LEICESTER have been forced into a further change ahead of their trip to Ipswich on Thursday (7.30pm).
Dan Thompson was expected to be fit to ride following his big crash at Northampton on Monday, and was carrying out mechanical preparations as normal the day after the incident.
However, in the last 12 hours or so he has experienced a deterioration, and the decision has now been taken that he will receive further physiotherapy before attempting a return.
Thompson will therefore miss the match at Foxhall with his place to be taken by Sheffield’s Anders Rowe, who scored seven points from four rides the last time he faced the Witches in Suffolk in July.
The Watling JCB Lions then have a further week prior to their next home fixture against Belle Vue on Thursday August 27.
