LEICESTER Lion Cubs look to keep their 100 per cent record going when they visit Buxton in the WSRA National Development League on Sunday (3pm).
The Lion Cubs have won all three of their league matches so far in 2026, including a big 61-29 victory over the Bulls at home which leaves them in control of the aggregate point.
But they are chasing more than that at Hi-Edge, where they have already enjoyed a 49-41 win in a Challenge match earlier in the season.
Flying Ryan Ingram won his first four races in that meeting and all of the Lion Cubs’ top five collected race wins, showing they are comfortable at the picturesque Derbyshire venue.
But the Bulls have a somewhat different formation to that meeting, and certainly the presence of Jack Roberts at reserve will be a significant threat.
Buxton went close to their first points of the NDL season when they took part in a close contest at King’s Lynn on Wednesday, with the final score of 49-41 not really representative of the meeting as a whole.
Leicester manager Jen Crossland said: “Obviously we are in a good position for the aggregate point, but we’re looking to win the match as well, and the team are confident they can do it.
“It will be tougher than on our first visit there this season and they have a strong reserve in Jack Roberts, but we’ve been delighted with our form so far and we want to keep it going.”
