PERRY SIXTH AT REDCAR

MAX Perry was the best-placed Leicester rider in the British Under-21 Final at Redcar on Sunday.

Perry rode strongly at the ECCO Arena to score double figures from his five programmed rides, which put him into the semi-final.

In that race, though, it was Ace Pijper and Jody Scott who went through to join Cooper Rushen and Will Cairns in the Final.

Rushen, who rode for the Lion Cubs last year, took the win thanks to a great move on the first two bends, whilst Scott was second and Pijper was awarded third place after a clash with Cairns saw the latter disqualified.

Perry was classified sixth after a very positive display, whilst amongst the other Lion Cubs riders Freddy Hodder and Ryan Ingram both scored six points, and youngster Seth Norman gathered experience with two.

Next action for the Watling JCB Lions is the visit of Ipswich to the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park this Thursday (June 11).
