LEICESTER’S Dan Thompson could be in line for his senior international debut at Landshut next month.
Thompson has been named in a seven-rider Great Britian squad for the first semi-final of the Speedway World Cup on Friday May 1.
Grand Prix duo Robert Lambert and Dan Bewley lead the selection along with Tom Brennan, and will surely be guaranteed starters for the meeting which also features Germany, the Czech Republic and Ukraine.
Thompson is then joined by Adam Ellis, Leon Flint and Charles Wright in the squad, which is to be whittled down to five riders prior to the event.
Flint and Wright both race for Landshut in Poland’s third tier, but there are currently injury concerns over both Ellis and Wright after recent crashes, which means Thompson could get his opportunity.
