LEICESTER Speedway are pleased to announce they will once again be staging the British Semi-Final this season.
The meeting will take place at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park on Sunday June 21 with a 3pm start, with crucial qualifying places up for grabs for the British Final at Belle Vue (Saturday August 15).
Last season’s Semi-Final saw Dan Thompson, who will be lining up for the Watling JCB Lions this year, race to a faultless 15-point maximum to win the meeting, whilst Leicester’s own two representatives on the night, Drew Kemp and Dan Gilkes, also made it through.
Co-promoter Jen Crossland said: “The meeting was a success last season and we are pleased to have been asked to host it again by British Speedway Promoters Ltd.
“We were always keen to be able to utilise a weekend date and a Sunday afternoon should fit in well with the rest of the calendar.”
The club will also be staging the British Under-21 Semi-Final this season. The date for this event is to be confirmed, but it is expected to take place in May, with the Final already set for June 7 at Redcar.
