LEICESTER’S popular Australian star Ryan Douglas celebrates his Testimonial Meeting at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park on Saturday (4pm).
Douglas, who first raced in the UK in 2013 and made his debut for the Watling JCB Lions as part of their Championship winning team of 2019, has secured a strong field for what promises to be a terrific Individual competition to kick off the season.
Lions regulars Max Fricke, Sam Masters, Luke Becker and Kyle Howarth are all involved as well as Douglas himself, with Grand Prix stars Dan Bewley, Brady Kurtz, Fredrik Lindgren and Jason Doyle also amongst the line-up.
There’s also a glimpse into the future with some of the UK’s top 250cc riders taking part in support races during the afternoon.
Douglas said: “It’s been a lot of organising but I’ve been lucky I’ve had Steph (Babb) on board, she takes a lot of the pressure away and I’m really looking forward to it now.
“It’s been a long six months getting things ready, but after seeing how well Niels’ (Iversen) meeting went last weekend, I’m excited for mine now.
“I spoke to a few people before and they said it can be quite difficult sometimes to get riders, but some people must like me I guess, because I was pretty lucky that everyone was on board straight away.
“A few had to wait for some dates in Poland when I asked them, but they made my job pretty easy and the line-up I’ve got is awesome. Everyone is keen to get those laps in before the season starts.”
