LEICESTER vice-captain Sam Masters is the second rider to be confirmed for the Ryan Douglas Testimonial meeting on Saturday March 22 (4pm).
Douglas celebrates his UK career so far at the Hydroscand Arena with a top line-up being built for what promises to be a very special event.
Both Masters and Douglas were signed by the Watling JCB Lions in the winter of 2023/24 to become part of the side which reached the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership Grand Final, but their connections go well beyond that.
The two Australians are good friends and had also been team-mates at Wolverhampton prior to the sad closure of the Monmore track, and they will once again team up with the Lions this year.
Douglas said: “I’m happy to have one of my good mates in the meeting.
“I love watching Sam ride a bike – he has a great style, and he’s super-fast out of the starts!”
Masters and Australian Champion Brady Kurtz are the first two riders announced for the meeting, with more to follow over the coming weeks.
All mascot packages for the event have now sold out, but there is still a chance to get involved with tyre and fuel packages, and heat and rider sponsorship packages available.
