NEWLY crowned Australian Champion Brady Kurtz is the first rider to be confirmed for the Ryan Douglas Testimonial meeting at Leicester.
The benefit event for popular Watling JCB Lions racer Douglas opens the season at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park on Saturday March 22 (4pm).
His fellow compatriot Kurtz enjoyed a blistering end to the 2024 campaign, captaining the Belle Vue team which defeated Leicester in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership Grand Final, and also winning promotion to the top league in Poland – as well as booking a place in the Grand Prix series for the first time.
And his success continued in his home country recently with victory in the three-round national series, taking the title for the first time since 2016.
Douglas said: “Brady is absolutely on fire at the moment, having just been crowned the new Australian Champion and now stepping into the spotlight with his debut in the GP series.
“It’s awesome to have him ride in my meeting.”
The meeting will run on an Individual format with 20 qualifying heats from which the top two riders will qualify directly for the Final, with the next four going into the Last Chance.
