MAX RULED OUT IN MILDURA

LEICESTER skipper Max Fricke’s Australian Championship chances are effectively over after he was forced to withdraw from the second round at Mildura.

Fricke suffered a heavy fall in his first ride as he battled with Keynan Rew and came to grief on turns three and four.

Although he was able to take his second outing, where he finished third, he took no further part in the meeting although thankfully he has reported no major damage.

The meeting was dominated by Brady Kurtz who went through the card and has 37 points from a possible 38 overall, making him strong favourite to take the title. Keynan Rew was second with Zach Cook third.

Fricke is currently in tenth place on 12 points and it remains to be seen whether he is able to line up in the remaining rounds at Albury and North Brisbane.
