LIONS’ 2025 FIXTURES ANNOUNCED

LEICESTER are set to launch their 2025 campaign with a home and away Knockout Cup battle with Midlands rivals Birmingham.

The Watling JCB Lions will visit Perry Barr for the first leg of their quarter-final tie on Monday March 24, whilst the opening team match of the season at Beaumont Park will be the second leg against the Brummies on Thursday March 27.

However, the first meeting of the season in LE4 will take place the previous weekend as Lions star Ryan Douglas celebrates his Testimonial.

Dougy’s special day will take place on Saturday March 22, with a 4pm start, and full details of what promises to be a grand occasion will follow over the coming weeks.

The opening ROWE Motor Oil Premiership fixture is a repeat of the 2024 Grand Final as the Lions host champions Belle Vue on Thursday April 10, and one week later they will face Ipswich at home in the first meeting between the clubs since last year’s dramatic play-off semi-final.

A busy Easter Monday (April 21) will see the Lions travel to Oxford in a 1pm start before returning to face the Spires at Beaumont Park that evening (7.30pm).

The date has also been confirmed for the British Semi-Final as Leicester host a meeting which will see qualifying places up for grabs for the Final at Belle Vue.

The semi takes place at Beaumont Park on Thursday May 1, with the Final in Manchester on May 12.
