LEICESTER will be represented at the upcoming British Speedway AGM by club owner Paul Cairns and fellow co-promoter and team manager Stewart Dickson.
The two will be flying to Tenerife on Monday (November 11) ahead of the three-day promoters’ gathering which will rubber-stamp the format and regulations for the 2025 ROWE Motor Oil Premiership season.
The club are pleased to confirm that team building plans for the Watling JCB Lions are well underway, as they look to build on this year’s achievements which saw them reach the top-flight play-offs for the first time in their history, before missing out to Belle Vue in the Grand Final.
Sam Hagon has already been confirmed as Rising Star, with each club having declared their rider to take that position, but no further Lions announcements will be made until after the AGM.
Dickson explained: “We won’t be saying anything until the AGM is complete, because you never know what could happen there at the last minute.
“But I can assure our supporters that we are well down the line in terms of talking to riders and doing deals for next season, and I’m confident that we will have another very competitive team.”
British Speedway will release a statement following the AGM to confirm the 2025 structure, and Lions will then put the final touches to their own plans.
