ALL at Leicester Speedway would like to send our best wishes to William Cairns after his heavy crash in the British Under-19 Final at Oxford on Sunday.
Cairns, son of club owner Paul, won his first two rides before running a last next time out, but in Heat 16 he was involved in a tangle with Luke Killeen heading into the third bend.
Cairns (pictured left) was taken to hospital and remained in overnight for observation due to concussion, a broken nose and bruising to his lungs.
The meeting was won by Ace Pijper ahead of Luke Harrison and Jody Scott, having been curtailed after the re-run of Heat 16 due to rain.
Sonny Springer was the highest scorer for the Lion Cubs as he collected seven points, whilst Vinnie Foord scored five, his total hampered by two falls. Max James picked up three.
