Leicester go into the Premier League Play-off’s on Friday at Somerset and welcome back Magnus Karlsson who missed the final league fixture at Workington following an injury sustained at Edinburgh the night before.
Lasse Bjerre and Jari Mäkinen, who also picked up knocks on the Northern tour, have also confirmed their fitness in what is an important weekend for Leicester who face three matches in as many days with a visit from Newcastle on Saturday and the return fixture on Tyneside twenty-four hours later.
“Somerset currently head Group 2 after a convincing win against Newcastle on Friday and two days later they picked up a bonus point in the return fixture on Tyneside. The Rebels are in the driving seat and will be quietly confident of consolidating their position against us on Friday. Titles are won on performances away from your own backyard when you have to raise your game above the home team. That is where successful teams are judged as to whether they have the mental character to pull it off. In our group all three teams have not lost at home so something has to give. It will be tight and there is no leeway for errors which makes the play-off’s an exciting position to be in and hopefully we can do ourselves justice” commented the Lions Co-promoter, Alan Jones.
