Kim Nilsson completes the team to face Leicester in Kauko Nieminen’s Testimonial Meeting at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium on Sunday 2nd June and joins Craig Cook, Rusty Harrison, Adam Roynon, Joe Haines, Jari Makinen and Henric Lindqvist in the side.
Nilsson first came over to ride in British Speedway in 2009 where he settled at Newport, making his debut in the Premier League for the now defunct Wasps. An opportunity came his way to sign for his present side the Lakeside Hammers two years later and it was there where he first teamed up with Kauko and their friendship has continued as they ride together in Sweden for Rosppigarna.
Kim, who is twenty-three, is making his first appearance at Leicester and for people who have followed the sport for many years they will remember his father Tommy Nilsson who rode for Coventry and Hackney against Leicester in the last era of the Lions.
