Alex Edberg suffered a broken hand, two fingers and collar-bone whilst riding for his Swedish League club Griparna last night.
The incident happened in Edberg’s first race when his team partner Robin Tornkvist was responsible for the crash. Alex was unable to take avoiding action and was awarded second place but neither took any further part in the meeting.
“It is a real blow to lose Alex for what may be several weeks as he was scoring so well and had bolstered the lower end of the team. For tomorrow’s fixture against Newcastle Simon Nielsen will guest for us at number six and we have to thank Simon for changing his arrangements at such short notice to help us out and also Plymouth who have agreed to our request to borrow him for the night” commented the Lions co-promoter Alan Jones.
