LAKESIDE V LIONS (EL) - PREVIEW

On Friday the Rapid Solicitors Lions make their second visit to Lakeside this season and hoping to make a better start than in their previous meeting. Leicester were met with an opening salvo that ended with the team on the wrong end of a 14-4 score-line after three races.

“It was a dreadful start and in the end those ten points were the difference between the two teams because we actually matched the Hammers point for point in the remaining twelve heats so on Friday we have to ensure that we get off to a better start” stated the Lions Team Manager Norrie Allan.

Lakeside are presently occupying second place in the Elite League table and have only lost once at home this season when the Hammers were beaten in the top of the table clash against King’s Lynn last month. The Lions still have a facility in place to cover for the space created in the team following Patrick Hougaard’s decision to sever his contract with the club and will be tracking a guest at number five.

“We have booked Rory Schlein to ride for us on Friday and I am hoping that we will soon be in a position to resolve this situation of only having six contracted riders to represent Leicester” added Allan.

Teams

Lakeside: 1. Davey Watt, 2. Richard Lawson, 3. Mikkel Bech, 4. Lewis Bridger, 5. Peter Karlsson, 6. Ben Morley and 7. Adam Ellis

Leicester: 1. Jason Doyle, 2. Simon Stead, 3. Mads Korneliussen, 4. Lasse Bjerre, 5. Rory Schlein, 6. Max Clegg and 7. Josh Bates
