LAKESIDE V LIONS, PREVIEW

Leicester travel to Essex tomorrow for an Elite League fixture against Lakeside. It is a former club of Davey Watt who spent three seasons there and during which time he captained the Hammers.

The Hammers have brought in Edward Kennett to replace the out of favour Piotr Swiderski and are operating the rider replacement facility for Kim Nilsson who is travelling to Croatia to compete in a semi-final qualifier for next season’s Speedway Grand Prix. Leicester meanwhile are unchanged from the team that lost on Saturday to Wolverhampton.

“I am hoping that Davey’s return to a track that is very familiar to him may just be what it will take for it all to click back into place and he returns to the form we know he is capable of” said the Lions Team Manager Norrie Allan.

The return fixture is at Leicester on Saturday and the Hammers have decided to dispense with rider replacement for Kim Nilsson as they have drafted in Craig Cook as a guest for the meeting which starts at 7.30 pm.
