Leicester embark on three matches in as many days beginning with a trip to King’s Lynn tonight before travelling to race against Belle Vue in Manchester tomorrow and finally returning home to Beaumont Park for the return Elite League fixture against the Norfolk club on Saturday.
The Paul Chapman and Sons Lions though are without Ludvig Lindgren for the match against King’s Lynn as the fixture clashes with a match for his Swedish club Valsarna who are at home to Griparna. Since joining the club last month Lindgren has become a huge favourite with supporters scoring forty-five points in just four appearances for his new club and is currently top of Leicester’s team averages. In Lindgren’s absence Ashley Morris will guest in his place at reserve to partner Josh Auty.
“So far we have managed to keep the fixture clashes down to a bare minimum and have only needed to call upon eight guests prior to the match at King’s Lynn. Compared to this time last year we had used thirty-six guests to plug the gaps for riders who were missing for one reason or another” explained Norrie Allan.
Leicester’s last visit to Norfolk in April to race against the Stars ended in a 52-41 win for the home riders who had to overcome a resolute Lions team who were only three points behind entering Heat 13. Since then King’s Lynn have struggled for consistency and they only collected their first away win of the season on Monday following a 47-46 success at Coventry.
Whilst Leicester will miss the free scoring Lindgren the Stars are also without Simon Lambert and they bring in one of their former riders Lewis Kerr as a guest replacement.
