Lions Team Manager Jim Lynch has named Danny King as the club’s new captain for 2017.
“I was delighted when Danny accepted my offer of the role to lead Leicester this season. He will bring so much to the team in terms of experience and knowledge that others can tap into particularly the younger ones in the side and he is already fulfilling the same position at Ipswich” said Lynch.
King will make his debut for the club in Friday’s SGB Premiership Pairs at Somerset along with Kim Nilsson and the Watling JCB Lions pairing have been drawn in Group B where they face Rye House, King’s Lynn and Poole.
Meanwhile, the club are preparing for their first Premiership fixture of the season with the visit of the Swindon Robins to Beaumont Park on Saturday and the return of their former captain Jason Doyle.
The Stadium ticket office will be open from a new time this season of 6.00pm.
