LIONS V CRADLEY, PREVIEW

LEICESTER young gun Josh Bates has urged fans to get down to Beaumont Park as they take on Cradley for the Ivor Brown Trophy on Saturday (7.30).

A young Watling JCB Lions side will take on the world famous Heathens to remember former great Brown, who rode for both clubs in the 1950s and 1960s.

The Travel Plus National League outfit are set to pose a stern test to the Lions as they make the trip across the Midlands.

But Bates, who will lead the side in the No.1 spot, is looking forward to the occasion.

"I'm looking forward to it," Bates said. "It should be an exciting meeting between two big clubs, and hopefully we get a big crowd in.

"I haven't done a challenge match in a while, so it will be nice to race against some guys I haven't ridden against in a while."

Cradley are led by former Leicester reserves Max Clegg and Tom Perry, plus current Lions' favourite Danny Ayres.

Meanwhile, experienced performer Richard Hall and Workington reserve Matt Williamson join Bates at the head of the Lions' side.

Admission costs just £10 for adults whilst normal prices for children apply.

LEICESTER: Josh Bates, Chris Widman, Richard Hall, Tom Woolley, Matt Williamson, Kyle Bickley, Luke Woodhull.

CRADLEY: Max Clegg, Conor Dwyer, Tom Perry, Dan Greenwood, Danny Ayres, Ryan Burton, Joe Lawlor.
