TEAM boss Jim Lynch reckons Leicester’s chances of a result at Wolverhampton on Monday (7.30) will be boosted by a carefree attitude.
The Lions head to Monmore Green on the back of a 48-42 home success over Somerset, a result that ended an eight-match wait for a league victory.
Lynch’s team will be unchanged with rider replacement in operation for Jason Garrity and Ellis Perks standing in for Danny Ayres once more. Both changes are due to injury.
But while spirits have been lifted by that success, Lynch predicts a tougher time at the home of the 2016 Elite League champions, who have made two changes since Leicester’s narrow 45-44 defeat there in April.
“It is a much-improved Wolves side,” said Lynch. “They made the changes we will all have to make over the next few weeks and have benefited from that early move.
“Without question, they are top of the league on merit and will present a much different challenge to the one we faced in the early part of the season.
“As always, we go there looking to do the best we can but with our injuries it will be tough and our focus has to be on the home matches while having a bit of fun on the away tracks.
“In other words don’t take it too seriously, go out to try for every point without getting too analytical about it. That has worked pretty well so far.”
On Saturday’s win, Lynch said: “From a team manager’s point of view in terms of our planning, it was almost perfect. We were quite happy to lose the toss because it was a slight advantage to choose the gate in heat 15.
“We are continually improving. Danny King is performing like we know he can now and everyone else is stepping up too.
“It is always match to match, certainly at home where I believe we can have a good run now.”
Wolves remain “hopeful” that Freddie Lindgren will recover sufficiently from his knee ligament problems to spearhead their side.
His fitness is set to be reassessed after racing for Polish club Rybnik today (Sunday). Reserve Nathan Greaves is fit despite being withdrawn from Ipswich’s meeting with Edinburgh on Thursday.
