GARRITY LOOKING FOR QUICK RETURN

LEICESTER star Jason Garrity has vowed to return from injury as soon as possible - despite looking set to miss Saturday's clash with Belle Vue (7.30).

The all-action Brit has missed the Watling JCB Lions' last three meetings due to an arm injury suffered riding for SGB Championship side Redcar.

He was planning to attempt a comeback this weekend but is now set to focus on a return in Monday's British Final at the National Speedway Stadium.

The recent addition to the Leicester ranks has nonetheless thanked the club for handing him a return to the top flight and promised to repay their faith by battling through the pain barrier as soon as he can.

"My arm is pretty sore at the moment and has been since the crash," Garrity revealed. "I've got a hyperextended elbow and my arm is very painful, but fortunately nothing is broken.

"I was hoping I'd be able to come back on Saturday, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to now which is a shame.

"I'm going to try and get ready for the British Final on Monday then once I've got through that I'll come back for Leicester.

"It's not ideal but I've just got to get on with it, that's the way I am. I don't want to let anyone down, and after getting a chance with Leicester I can't wait for the rest of the season."

The Lions are gearing up for a mouth-watering clash with Belle Vue despite Garrity's absence.

Club bosses are hoping for a big crowd after warm recent weather and have put on a face painter for kids to enjoy before the meeting.

And Garrity has wished his team-mates all the best as they search for three more SGB Premiership points.

He added: "Hopefully the boys can get the job done on Saturday and get three points."
