LEICESTER's Josh Bates hopes his British FIM Speedway Grand Prix experience can help him inspire his side to a win over King's Lynn at Beaumont Park on Monday (7.30).
The 21-year-old was named as second track reserve for Saturday's showpiece event at Cardiff's Principality Stadium.
And with Greg Hancock pulling out of the meeting plus a tapes exclusion, that ensured the Barnsley born youngster bagged himself three rides in front of the 40,000 plus crowd.
His first ever Grand Prix ride saw him secure two points after an impressive start helped him fend off a challenge from 2012 World Champion Chris Holder and Round 1 winner Martin Vaculik.
Bates now returns to the Lions side at reserve against the Stars on Monday and is hoping to play a key role as they target their first victory since June 10.
"Saturday was amazing and I'm feeling pretty good now," Bates said.
"It's always been one of my life goals to ride in a Grand Prix.
"As the second reserve I never expected to get a ride to be honest. But to get three rides and score two points was amazing.
"It was a big achievement for me and it was a big reminder of where I want to be.
"Hopefully now I can crack on, have a good rest of the season and help the team do well."
The Watling JCB Lions have booked GB World Cup star Chris Harris to guest at No.1 in place of Kim Nilsson who is ruled out with a broken arm.
After breaking his leg on his debut against Swindon last Monday, rider replacement will operate for Pawel Przedpelski with all other six Lions eligible to cover his outings.
Bates will be joined by Kyle Newman at reserve with Lasse Bjerre and Erik Riss being elevated back into the main body of the team.
Meanwhile, anyone who brings their programme from last week's clash with Swindon will be able to get £2 off their admission for Monday's meeting.
And with club bosses impressed by the atmosphere created at Beaumont Park last time out, they are encouraging supporters to bring their air and blow horns along on what they are anticipating will be another fascinating Premiership contest.
