NILSSON TARGETS QUICK RETURN

LEICESTER hope to welcome star man Kim Nilsson back into their side when Belle Vue visit Beaumont Park on Saturday (8pm).

Nilsson initially hoped to make his return at Somerset on Monday but is now targeting their home clash with the high-flying Aces to make his comeback from a broken arm.

The likeable Swede was in fine form for the Watling JCB Lions before his lay-off – and club bosses admit they can’t wait to have him back leading the side heading into the closing stages of the season.

Co-promoter Marc Bates said: “Kim’s been a really important rider for us this season, so we’re hoping to finally get him back against Belle Vue.

“We’ve had a couple of good home wins the last two weeks and we’re looking to end the season strongly, so having him back in the side will give us a boost.

“It’ll be a tough meeting against Belle Vue, but we got our biggest crowd of the season when they visited earlier in the year and we’ll hopefully get a similar turnout to try and push the boys to another win.”

Meanwhile, Polish ace Pawel Przedpelski is still struggling with his leg injury suffered on his debut against Swindon.

The young gun is awaiting further updates from his surgeon after aggravating the damage riding for Torun in his homeland.

The start time for Saturday’s meeting against Belle Vue has been shifted to 8pm in a bid to avoid the sunset which has caused delays in recent weeks.
