POOLE V LIONS, PREVIEW

LEICESTER ace Erik Riss has urged them to enjoy the rest of the season – starting when they head to Poole on Monday (7.30).

The Watling JCB Lions slipped to a 50-40 home defeat against Belle Vue on Saturday and remain rooted to the bottom of the SGB Premiership table.

They will now prepare for a tough trip to Wimborne Road to take on a play-off chasing Pirates’ side who got their season back on track with a narrow win over Wolverhampton last week.

But German star Riss, who top scored against the Aces, says they’ll continue to give it their all and just have fun as they aim to end their tough season on a high.

“We were unlucky against Belle Vue, but it pretty much sums up our season,” Riss said. “We’ve had a lot of defeats already, and we know now that we can’t do anything.

“All we can do now is keep trying to win as many meetings as we can and just enjoy ourselves for the rest of the season.

“You can see the other teams are stronger than us, so we just have to enjoy the rest of the season and try to do as well as we can for the fans.”

Leicester use rider replacement for injured Polish youngster Pawel Przedpelski, although they are otherwise at full strength.

POOLE: Brady Kurtz, Jack Holder, Timo Lahti, Edward Kennett, Hans Andersen, Paul Starke, James Shanes.

LEICESTER: Kim Nilsson, Erik Riss, Lasse Bjerre, Pawel Przedpelski R/R, Danny King, Josh Bates, Kyle Newman.
