SCOTT Nicholls and Rory Schlein, who hold four top flight titles between them from their time at Coventry, will be back in Bees colours in Sunday’s special meeting at Leicester (2pm).
The Watling JCB Lions have arranged an East Midlands Bowl clash with the homeless Coventry side with Nicholls and Schlein teaming up alongside firm favourites Adam Roynon, Joe Jacobs and Kenneth Hansen.
Since the demise of the Bees on the eve of the season with the unavailability of their former Brandon Stadium home, they have been missed by every other club throughout British racing.
And Leicester co-promoter Neil Machin said: “We are extremely pleased to welcome a Coventry Bees team to Beaumont Park on Sunday.
“Coventry remain one of the world famous speedway clubs even though they aren’t currently in league racing.
“It’s a crying shame what has happened across at Brandon Stadium, generations of fans went there down the years and now they have had their club taken away from them.
“Like everyone else with the sport at heart, I wish them well in securing a new site – or maybe even somehow in the future going back to Brandon.
“In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming the Bees supporters for a great day out on Sunday.”
Former Coventry duo Danny King and Josh Bates are included in the Leicester side and a bumper turnout is expected.
Meanwhile, Kim Nilsson joins King as Leicester’s representatives at Belle Vue on Saturday night for the Premiership Riders’ Championship.
