LIONS SWOOP FOR POLISH STAR

AMBITIOUS Leicester have pulled off a second stunning swoop with the signing of exciting Polish youngster Krystian Pieszczek.

And the 22-year-old says he’s honoured to join a top flight British club where he will link up with Grand Prix star Martin Vaculik.

It’s an exciting time for Watling JCB Lions fans who are excited by the way team building has kicked off ahead of the 2018 campaign.

Pieszczek finished runner-up to Max Fricke in the 2016 FIM World Under-21 Championship after opening the series with a brilliant 20-point haul at King’s Lynn.

And he’s relishing the prospect of linking up with the Lions and racing at new tracks.

He said: “I’m very excited to be able to take part in the British Premiership.

“It’s an honour and I also know a great responsibility.

“My ambitions are always the same, to do the best job for the clubs I represent and also to achieve the highest goals I can individually, not to mention to stay injury free!”

And he recalls that memorable night at King’s Lynn 17 months ago when he beat Robert Lambert and Fricke to lead the World Under-21 Championship with 20-points.

“I enjoyed that night very much so,” he said. “It’s always nice to win of course and to do so on a track I’ve never ridden on before made it all that much sweeter!”

And after finishing bottom of the 2017 Premiership and surviving a play-off to stay in the league, the Polish superstar has a message for Beaumont Park fans.

“Please cheer us on in 2018,” he said. “Together Leicester can achieve much more!”
