LEICESTER have called on two more familiar faces to bolster their ranks as part of a revamped team for the 2018 SGB Premiership campaign.
British duo Danny King and Kyle Newman will both be back with the Watling JCB Lions after successful stints with the club last season.
With Grand Prix star Martin Vaculik, Polish hotshot Krystian Pieszczek and young gun Josh Bates already on the team sheet, it has been an exciting start to team building for the Beaumont Park outfit.
And Great Britain international King believes they can climb the top flight table to be in the mix for silverware when the new season gets underway.
“I’m really pleased to be back,” King said. “I enjoyed my time with Leicester last year, and I really enjoyed working with the Bates’s.
“I feel like the club is moving in the right direction, I’m pleased to be part of it and hopefully I can help make sure it’s a much more successful season next year.
“Martin’s record speaks for itself. He’s an established Grand Prix rider now, and although he hasn’t ridden in the UK before I’m sure it won’t take long for a rider of his quality to settle in.
“Krystian has bags of talent from what I’ve seen, and I think he’s made a good decision to come and ride in Britain because it’s the best place to be for a young rider looking to develop.
“It’s exciting to have two talented riders like that on board already, and hopefully they’ll have a big part to play for us.”
Meanwhile, Newman is keen to kick-on after an injury-ravaged 2017 which saw him nonetheless show his potential in a Leicester race jacket.
He added: “I was thankful to Leicester for taking a chance on me in the top flight last year, and I’m pleased to be able to repay that loyalty.
“They stuck by me when I had a pretty stop-start season, but this year I have a point to prove and I want to show everyone what I’m capable of.
“The team is looking good, I think we can do well and we should see some exciting racing as well as some good results.”
