DASHING Dane Michael Palm Toft wants to give Leicester’s management a headache!
Palm Toft has been unveiled as a short term signing to cover for the injured Josh Bates and will make his debut on Monday against Poole.
And he’s expressed his sympathy to Bates – but at the same time he wants a Premiership spot for the rest of the season.
“I’m not here to take anyone’s job, especially that of Josh,” he said. “But I’m in the shop window and I want to give the club something to think about in terms of whether to release me when Josh is ready.
“If I score big points for the team then it will give them a headache, won’t it?
“Of course I would rather be joining the club under different circumstances and I want to wish Josh all the very best in his recovery and hope he’s able to start riding again at the first opportunity.
“But I know if I score lots of points Leicester will have to consider keeping me – and if not then other Premiership clubs will be looking at me anyway.
“I’m happy about joining Leicester. They have a very good management structure there and I like the track, I always seem to enjoy riding there.
“Now all we need is the rain to stop and we can go racing. I’ delighted to be here and I can’t wait to get started!”
