LEICESTER are awaiting a full medical bulletin on injured rider Martin Vaculik.
Slovakian superstar Vaculik crashed in the abandoned meeting at Swindon on Thursday and Watling JCB Lions bosses have been informed he has suffered a broken ankle.
But club co-owner Damien Bates said: “Full details of Martin’s injury are still a bit sketchy and we are awaiting further news.
“Naturally it’s a savage blow to both Martin and to the team and I’m sure every Leicester Speedway fan wishes him well.
“Michael Palm Toft has sprained his ankle and we send him our best, we are just trying to establish a more accurate diagnosis for both in terms of how long they will need on the sidelines.”
Leicester are back in action for what remains their first Premiership outing of the season when World Champion Jason Doyle and the Somerset Rebels visit the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena at Beaumont Park on Monday.
Club bosses are looking at their options to cover for the injuries and a further update will be given as and when this is finalised.
