SOMERSET V LIONS, PREVIEW

LEICESTER team boss Simon Stead is looking for more “fight” from his side at Somerset.

The Lions battled hard at Belle Vue on Monday night for little reward and now face another tough encounter at the Oak Tree Arena.

But Stead has been boosted by the attitude of his side and hopes that they can push the Play-Off chasing Rebels.

He said: “The boys worked really hard at Belle Vue for every point. We got into a lot of good positions but Belle Vue are very special on their home patch.

“I believe if we can carry that fighting attitude at Somerset we can give them a hard meeting. They had a good result on Monday night against Poole but lost a week ago against Belle Vue so they’re not invincible.

“Somerset is a great racers track and I know all the boys will enjoy it there so we can go and give it a right go.

“We’ve got quite a few meetings to go and we want to finish on a high and I think we can with the right spirit in the camp.

“I know the boys want to do well for the fans who have been so loyal to us. They are giving it 100 per cent in every meeting.

“We wanted to use the big home win over Belle Vue as a springboard and we still can. I’m sure we can upset the Play-Off chasing teams over the next few weeks.”

It’s a return to the Oak Tree Arena for Charles Wright just a month after he won the Championship Pairs title on the same circuit.
