LEICESTER’S National League side have received a major boost ahead of the forthcoming campaign.
They have secured a main team sponsor and will be known as the Roger Webster Leicester Lion Cubs.
Mr Webster is a staunch Leicester supporter and has been one of the club’s main partners since they entered the top flight in 2014.
And he’s continuing his partnership by backing the new National League outfit.
Said Webster: "Leicester Speedway has great forward looking plans to secure a long term future and the Cubs are an important part of the plan.
"The organisation of this team is first class and the riders have plenty of talent and skill to develop which is a recipe for success.
"I look forward to working with them in their hunt for trophies.”
Meanwhile club co-promoter Dave Darcy said: "Roger can see the direction the club is moving and his investment will help to underpin our new venture of running a team in the National League.
"He is very supportive of everything we do and I know that he is a firm believer in development at grassroots level so we are both aligned with each other’s thinking.
"We will carry his name on the team race-bibs with pride and hope to do him proud.”
