FOUR NAMED FOR THE BONANZA

The Ben Fund Bonanza organisers have been working hard on the tenth staging of the event at the the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena, Leicester on Sunday 17th March, start time 2pm. Quite a few riders have committed early and the first four names can be announced now.

These will be Wolverhampton no. 1 Sam Masters, sure to bring a good travelling support, Lions’ home star Scott Nicholls, Bonanza ever-present Ben Barker and the returning Danny King, keen to put his disastrous 2018 season behind him.

Just about the only person who might have seen a silver lining to the postponement of the last Bonanza at Redcar last October would be Barker, who has this been able to maintain his ever-present record (he was injured in October).

Danny King’s battle to overcome a serious and difficult arm injury has been well documented but he is now looking for ward to the season. He has been a supporter of the Ben Fund Bonanza since the early days. He said “The Ben Fund have been fantastic, that’s one thing – you can’t fault them, they are always there. They certainly do their job and that’s why I am always pleased to try and help them when I can. I’ve always hoped in my career that I would never have to use the Ben Fund but I’ve still always supported it.

“It’s only been this last year that I have used it but it should be supported, because that’s what it is there for. So many riders have benefitted from it that they should be queuing up to do the meeting.”
