LEICESTER fans will finally get to see Nuneaton-born twins Dan and Joe Thompson in competitive action for the club on Sunday (4pm).
Their National League side face Mildenhall at the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena, Beaumont Park, in a Knockout Cup tie and the club are urging fans to turn out in force.
The twins, who are both 125cc British Youth Champions, have done plenty of laps around the Leicester track but Sunday sees them make their full debut.
Admission is reduced to just £12 adults, £10 concessions and children go free.
Leicester co-promoter Neil Machin is backing the Lion Cubs to enjoy a successful season and admits the focus will be on the Thompson boys on Sunday.
He said: “Dan and Joe Thompson who have been preparing for this day for several years, they will both have their feet firmly on the ground and father Darren will be conducting his technical overview in the pits.
“They are on a fast track learning curve and will benefit from the more experienced members of their team.
“Number one Ellis Perks will lead from the front and his current form at Championship league level must indicate that he will be the man to beat home and away as the National league season unfolds.
“Team Captain Danyon Hume has a big average and will match anyone in the National league this year.”
