CRADLEY V LION CUBS, PREVIEW

LEICESTER Lion Cubs make the short trip across the Midlands to face Cradley at Wolverhampton on Monday (7.30pm).

An expected busy schedule for the Roger Webster Lion Cubs has been reduced by postponements, and this is their first away fixture in National League competition.

With No.1 Ellis Perks absent due to Premiership duty with Swindon, the Cubs have called upon former Heathens skipper Tom Perry to guest – after their initial choice Danny Ayres suffered a shoulder injury in a practice crash at Scunthorpe.

Perry started his career with the Monmore-based club in 2010 and won the title with them in 2014 before repeating the feat with Birmingham in 2015-16.

Cradley field a team with their traditionally strong top order, as heat-leader trio Max Clegg, Jack Smith and Danny Halsey could all conceivably be No.1s at this level.

The Heathens were beaten by Belle Vue in their last home outing, but recovered to post a big four-point win at Mildenhall last weekend. They hand a home debut to recent signing Sheldon Davies, who has replaced Lewis Whitmore.

CRADLEY: Max Clegg, Sheldon Davies, Danny Halsey, Luke Harris, Jack Smith, Tom Spencer, Harry McGurk.
LEICESTER: Tom Perry, Ryan MacDonald, Luke Ruddick, Jamie Halder R/R, Danyon Hume, Dan Thompson, Joe Thompson.
