BRITISH Speedway legend Chris ‘Bomber’ Harris is set for another appearance with Leicester in their push for the top of the table.
Harris, who lives in Coventry, has provided some of the most memorable moments in the modern era of the sport and he replaces Richie Worrall in the Watling JCB Lions side to face Scunthorpe at the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena on Saturday (7.30).
And Leicester co-promoter Neil Machin said: “This will be a fascinating night of racing between two good sides.
“We once again offer our thanks to Chris Harris for stepping in, he will give it his all as he always does and hopefully he can contribute to a Leicester victory.
“Scunthorpe manager Dave Peet has vast experience and he will extract every possible point from his riders – but so will our own Stewart Dickson. I’m expecting a great night.”
Scunthorpe include man-of-the-moment Danny Ayres who won the hearts of fans with his daredevil rides at the British Final live on TV – and he is one of a host of former Leicester riders in their team.
LEICESTER have arranged a double helping of home action for Saturday week, August 17.
The club will stage 30 heats of league racing as the Championship side face Glasgow in a mouthwatering clash at 6.30 followed by a National League battle with Cradley Heath at 8.30.
Admission is £20 adults, £17 concessions and kids free – and the club are keen to remind fans who attended last Sunday should bring their re-admission ticket to get admission at the normal one meeting Championship price.
