LOCAL LAD Joe Thompson was delighted to see Leicester move back level with Belle Vue at the top of the National League.
The Roger Webster Lion Cubs produced yet another solid team display to maintain their 100 per cent record at home with a 57-33 win over Midland rivals Cradley.
They were kept on their toes in the early exchanges, but powered to victory in the end with five heat advantages in the final six races.
Teenager Thompson dropped points in just one of his five rides and admitted he thoroughly enjoyed another fine night.
“Everyone was scoring well and nobody was lacking points so we got on really well as a team,” Thompson said.
“I got caught out a bit in my second ride with it being so greasy after the rain but I managed to get a few more wins after that which was great.
“I’m really getting back to enjoying my racing again now and it’s great getting more track time.”
Thompson was helped out hugely by heat-Leader duo Ellis Perks and Danyon Hume while reserve pairing Ryan Terry-Daley and Josh Embleton contributed paid 19-points between them.
Experienced guest Luke Priest also chipped in as the Lion Cubs now prepare for the visit of Mildenhall to the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena this coming Saturday (September 7, 7pm).
