MORE NATIONAL GLORY UP FOR GRABS

LEICESTER are gunning for more national silverware with Scott Nicholls and Ryan Douglas representing the club in Friday’s Championship Pairs at Somerset (7pm).

It’s the perfect way for fans to start their weekend with the FIM British Speedway Grand Prix the following night in Cardiff and then the National League Riders’ Championship back at Leicester on Sunday.

After winning the Championship Shield last weekend, Watling JCB Lions co-promoter Neil Machin says there is a buzz around the club.

“Everyone’s feeling great right now,” he said. “And this is a massive weekend in prospect. We know how tough the Pairs line-up is but there is no reason who our boys cannot go there to Somerset and bring home the trophy.

“It’s the biggest weekend in the calendar for British Speedway fans and as a club we are also proud and honoured to host the NLRC on Sunday.

“The Pairs Championship is probably the strongest it has ever been and I’m sure a few Leicester fans will be making the trip on their way to Cardiff.”
