LEICESTER’S home Championship play-off semi-final against Redcar has been set for Saturday October 12 (7.30pm).
Both legs of the Watling JCB Lions’ clash with the Bears were postponed due to bad weather last weekend, and they now head to the Media Prima Arena this Friday with the second leg taking place eight days later.
Team manager Stewart Dickson said: “The weather has caused problems with both semi-final ties, and we’re pleased to now have the date confirmed.
“Obviously we’ll be looking for a big crowd to back the boys at home, but first we have a job to do at Redcar on Friday.”
Coach travel to Teesside is available via the Leicester Speedway Supporters’ Club. Anyone interested in making the trip is asked to contact Dan Archer to reserve their seat and ensure the coach runs.
The other semi-final is currently at the halfway stage with Glasgow taking a 51-39 advantage to Somerset for their second leg tonight (Wednesday).
Meanwhile, the Roger Webster Lion Cubs are in action tonight at Birmingham, facing Cradley in their National League play-off semi-final.
The return is at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena on Saturday at the earlier time of 5.30pm to also include the KO Cup semi-final second leg against Stoke.
