LEICESTER have added National League newcomer Danny Woodward to their line-up for 2020.
The 28-year-old from Salford is a motocross graduate who was a late starter to speedway, having only raced in the shale sport for twelve months.
He made his debut with Camarathen in the Midland and Southern Development League this year, and has now signed for the Roger Webster Lion Cubs having come to the attention of club bosses over the summer.
Woodward will take a reserve berth in the new-look line-up and is delighted to get the opportunity of a team place.
He said: "I have been to Leicester and ridden the track in practice events on three separate occasions so I know the place.
"It is going to be a new experience for me and I am up for the challenge. One thing for certain is that I am not going there just to make up the numbers.
"I will be giving it 100 per cent effort, and hopefully I can help the team hold onto the league championship title they won this year."
Woodward joins Dan and Joe Thompson in the Cubs' line-up for 2020, with further signings expected shortly after Christmas.
