NEIL Machin has stood down as co-promoter of Leicester Speedway with immediate effect.
One of the longest serving promoters in British racing has enjoyed a glittering career in charge of Sheffield – where he oversaw a staggering 649 meetings – and Leicester.
Now he feels the time is right to step aside after a stunning season of silverware at the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena, Beaumont Park.
Manager and co-promoter Stewart Dickson said: “Whilst we are disappointed to lose Neil we fully understand and wish him all the very best.
“His record as a promoter stands up to anyone and his contribution to Leicester Speedway has been excellent.
“We wish him well for the future and look forward to seeing him at the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena next season as a guest of the club.”
