LEICESTER Speedway are pleased to confirm team planning is fully in hand following last Thursday’s meeting of promoters.
Full details of the Championship structure for 2021 are yet to be formally released, but the Watling JCB Lions have clarity on the route they need to take to complete their line-up.
They have been aware for several months that their intended 2020 line-up could not be carried over into the new season due to the retirement of Ellis Perks, but promoter Stewart Dickson had already assessed a number of possible options to fill that gap, dependant on the outcome of Thursday’s talks.
Dickson said: “I’m happy to let everyone know that we are moving, and we have now secured the services of a rider.
“We were hoping to be able to make an announcement this weekend, but we need the relevant paperwork to be completed first, along with more information to be released about the league structure itself.
“However, it’s important that we keep everyone in touch and also that our supporters and sponsors are the first to hear the news, and hopefully we should be in a position to announce the rider very soon.”
