LEICESTER have added 15-year-old Vinnie Foord to their National Development League line-up for the new season.
Foord is regarded as one of the sport’s exciting young talents and will be going into his second year at this level after making his debut in 2021.
The Hailsham-born rider initially lined up for his local club Eastbourne after turning 15 last July, making two appearances prior to the Arlington side’s disappointing closure.
But he quickly picked up a team place with Kent and made seven appearances for the Royals which included two race wins and a highest score of 6+1 at Armadale in September.
Cubs manager Dave Howard said: “In his first NDL opportunities in 2021, Vinnie showed what speed and talent he has.
“So with that year of experience behind him and the development and progress potential Vinnie has, he is a great addition to the Lion Cubs’ team in his second year of NDL racing on a 3.00 average.
“It will be exciting to see his progress in our colours as the season moves on.”
The club are pleased to confirm they have finalised arrangements with their two remaining riders for 2022, and these are set to be announced later in the week.
