LEICESTER racer Kyle Howarth is backing Dan and Joe Thompson to take their career up another level this year.
The twins are both included in the Watling JCB Lions team along with the Lion Cubs side at National Development League level.
It all adds up to a hectic season for the youngsters who made good progress in their debut Championship campaign last year.
“The Thompson boys both had a great season last year in the Championship,” Howarth said. “They have now ridden most tracks so they will have a rough idea what to expect this year knowing they have been there.
“They are both good lads so I’m confident they can push on, they just need to enjoy themselves and keep working hard and the results will come. I’m sure they will both have a huge part to play in Leicester doing well this season.”
Howarth has also welcomed the news of Richie Worrall’s return to the club after making the switch from Edinburgh.
He said: “Richie is a good rider, a consistent rider who knows how to score points at this level.
“He can also gate which is massive and wants to win titles. I know how he was gutted when Leicester last won the league a couple of years back and he had to sit most of the season out on the injury list.
“The fans love him and hopefully he can be back to scoring the points as soon as the season kicks off.”
