LEICESTER continue their National Development League campaign with another busy weekend – starting at Belle Vue on Friday (7.30pm).
The Lion Cubs will be looking to do the double over the Colts having won 59-31 when the sides met last Saturday, although things will undoubtedly be tougher at the National Speedway Stadium.
Then on Saturday (7pm) the Cubs host Mildenhall who are another side strongly fancied to challenge for honours this season.
The trip to Manchester sees the Cubs face a Colts side who are forced into one change from last week’s match as Nathan Ablitt is on Championship duty for Poole, and Oxford’s Sam Hagon comes in to guest.
The hosts continue to operate rider replacement for Jack Parkinson-Blackburn who is withholding services, but captain Jack Smith is fit to ride after his heavy crash at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena.
Leicester make one change from last weekend, with Kai Ward now back in the side as injury cover for the unlucky Max Perry, who broke a collarbone at Kent.
Cubs No.1 Dan Thompson said: “It was a really good performance from the whole team last Saturday, and then it was such a shame to lose Max at Iwade.
“We’re really busy at the moment, but that’s how I like it, and we’re looking forward to Belle Vue.
“It’s good to be busy, and when you’ve had a long time off the bike it doesn’t do you any favours. When you’re riding every day, you’re still fresh!”
