LEICESTER Lion Cubs have suffered another injury blow with Kai Ward now on the sidelines.
Ward, who came back into the Lion Cubs’ side earlier this month as a replacement for the injured Max Perry, crashed out at Frittenden Grasstrack on Sunday and has suffered a broken wrist and tibula.
Everyone at Leicester wishes Kai all the best for a speedy recovery.
Meanwhile three of the club’s youngsters were in British Youth action over the weekend in a double header at Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Max James competed in the 500cc section against several current NDL riders and finished second to Sam McGurk in both meetings.
At Edinburgh he was brought down in the Final by first Ace Pijper and then by Freddy Hodder in the re-run, whilst at Glasgow he finished ahead of Hodder and former Cubs rider Ben Trigger.
In the 125cc class, Seth Norman scored three points at Edinburgh and five at Glasgow in a section containing several more experienced riders.
Meanwhile Casper Kluczniak competed in the support class and was very unlucky at Edinburgh as he came down on the last lap when leading the Final – but he made amends at Glasgow by taking an excellent victory in the section, after scoring 11 points in the qualifiers.
