LEICESTER Lion Cubs kick off a vital weekend of NDL action with a trip to Belle Vue on Friday (7.30pm).
The Cubs and the Colts are level on 19 points, five behind leaders Oxford, but Leicester have two matches in hand and all of their remaining three fixtures will be at home.
That includes Saturday’s home match against Workington, which is a double header as the Cubs also look to secure their place in the KO Cup Final.
But they are forced into two changes at the National Speedway Stadium with Dan Thompson still out injured whilst Ashton Boughen is on Championship duty with Oxford.
Boss Dave Howard has called up Ben Morley and Danny Phillips to guest, whilst the Colts are similarly affected and track Sam McGurk in place of Sam Hagon and operate rider replacement for James Pearson.
September averages mean Tom Spencer moves back into the top five for the Cubs, with Max James going back to reserve alongside Vinnie Foord.
The aggregate point could also be significant, and the Lion Cubs hold a 51-39 advantage going into the meeting against another of the teams boasting a 100 per cent home record this season.
BELLE VUE: James Pearson r/r, Matt Marson, Sam McGurk, Freddy Hodder, Jack Smith, Jack Shimelt, Luke Muff.
LEICESTER: Ben Morley, Max Perry, Danny Phillips, Tom Spencer, Joe Thompson, Vinnie Foord, Max James.
