Magnus Karlsson’s Testimonial Meeting at Leicester on 17th March is sure to benefit greatly from the presence of top Swede Freddie Lindgren who returns for another season in the colours of Wolverhampton.
Lindgren said: “I’ve known Magnus for quite a bit now, he’s a great guy and I hope he has a good meeting. It was hard for him to follow his brothers who are such great riders but he has done well. I was honoured to get the call to ride in his meeting and am looking forward to riding at Leicester as it will be the first time for me”.
Freddie is looking forward to the season in general and added: “I’m coming into my ninth year at Wolverhampton and consider the UK as my home now. Wolves are a really good club and have a great set of supporters. I didn’t like the track at first but I do now! I hope we can be a bit more successful this year though. I’m aiming to get to the top in the Grand Prix as I have the experience now. It’s a different game from league racing where there is a very small margin between success and failure.”
Magnus Karlsson arrived in the UK a year before Freddie and had the best part of five seasons with him at Monmore Green. He praised his fellow countryman, saying “We’ve been team mates in Sweden for a few years and Wolverhampton for a few years. I know him pretty well and we’re really good friends. It’s been fantastic to see him grow from a young rider into the star he is today.”
A double winner of Sweden’s National Under-21 Individual Championship, Freddie joins Nicki Pedersen as the first two confirmed starters in the line-up for the testimonial meeting that opens the new season at the Beaumont Park Stadium in March.
