LIONS V GLASGOW (PL) - PREVIEW

The Harry Jordan Lions return to Premier League action on Saturday with the visit of the Glasgow Tigers to Leicester and Team Manager Glyn Taylor has decided not to make a change to the side following Adam Roynon’s return to the sport on Sunday in the Testimonial meeting for Kauko Nieminen.

“It has been the most important decision we have had to make regarding team selection since we opened in 2011. It was agreed with Adam that he would work towards a comeback in Kauko’s Testimonial meeting where points were not at stake as it would be a nice event to ease his way back in and then see where we went from there depending on how he came through it.

“After Adam’s accident Magnus Karlsson stepped in at such short notice to help us out and his form of late particularly on away tracks at Glasgow and Plymouth cannot be ignored. Adam as we all know is a class act and gives everything so you can see the predicament we were in. After Sunday’s meeting we had to make a quick decision either way for the sake of Magnus and Adam. So rather than change a winning team we have decided to allow Adam the opportunity to find another club and have circulated his name as available and wish him well” commented the Lions co-promoter Alan Jones.

Leicester are currently top of the league table and go into the fixture against Glasgow hoping to complete the double over the Scottish club and extend their unbeaten run to seven matches. The Tigers have selection problems following the announcement earlier in the week by James Wright that he was taking a break from the sport and have co-opted the Scunthorpe rider Ashley Birks to deputise. Added to their woes Joey Ringwood is missing due to a swollen knee following a crash in the home fixture against Edinburgh two weeks ago and so Glasgow are operating the rider replacement facility to cover for their absent Australian.
