JUNIOR EVENT AT BEAUMONT PARK

Leicester will stage Round 2 of the British Youth Championship series on Saturday 17th May with a start time of 6.30 pm.

It will be the third occasion that the event has been held at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium and Co-promoter Alan Jones had this to say: “This is a worthwhile competition for aspiring British youngsters to engage in. Phil Morris and Neil Vatcher, who are the GB Under-21 Managers, co-ordinate the series and they are so passionate and committed to the development of riders for the future that you cannot help being pulled along by their enthusiasm and we are only too delighted to offer our support again. I am pleased to say that this fixture is an additional meeting and will be included in the current season ticket offer.”

The British Youth Championship is considered to be a stepping stone into league racing and recent evidence of that is the progress made by Danny Phillips, Jack Kingston, Nathan Greaves and Nathan Stoneman who have all passed through the competition and are now competing at a higher level along with Max Clegg who will be riding in the Elite League this year with Leicester.

Meanwhile, the club will hold a Preview Day on Saturday 15th March at the stadium with a start time of 1.00 pm. The first hour has been set aside for media interviews and photographs followed by a practice session for the team at 2.00 pm. “The stadium will be open at 1.00 pm and everyone is welcome to attend. We plan to have a question and answer session afterwards with the riders and promotional team” added Jones.
